【会议速递】关于金砖国家贸易投资合作政策建议的交流研讨会

自从2006年第一次外交部长会面和2009年第一次领导人会面以来，金砖国家已经成为这些新兴经济体的重要平台。这五个国家拥有全球人口的43%，全球GDP的23%，全球贸易量的16%，在拉动全球经济增长和拥护全球经济治理方面有巨大潜力。今年，第九届金砖国家会议将在中国厦门举行，这是推进实施现有提案、为未来经济合作发展新观点的机会。

本次研讨会的目的就是讨论如何进一步完善金砖国家的贸易投资合作、支持金砖国家之间的市场一体化、并为构建开放、包容、协作的全球贸易投资系统作出贡献。

本次交流研讨会将在5月12日在中国北京召开。此次活动由国际贸易和可持续发展中心（ICTSD）和北京师范大学联合举办。

Since its first foreign ministers’ meeting in 2006 and first leaders’ meeting in 2009, the BRICS has developed as an important platform for these emerging economies with global implications. Five countries of BRICS have 43% of world population, 23% of global GDP and 16% of world trade, having a great potential to serve as both an engine for global economic growth and an advocate for global economic governance. China will host the BRICS summit in 2017, which will be an opportunity to move forward in both implementing existing proposals and developing new ideas for further economic cooperation.

The objective of this workshop is to discuss possible ways to further advance BRICS trade and investment cooperationso as to bolster market integration WITHIN the group, as well as to contribute to open, inclusive and cooperative trade and investment system at the GLOBAL level.

The workshop will take place on 12 May,Beijing, China. This event is organized by ICTSD and Beijing Normal University.
